Overview

Architectural Engineering is “the art and science of engineering and construction as practiced in regard to buildings as distinguished from architecture as an art of design”. The program is designed to equip students with skills in building construction engineering and management of building construction projects with the understanding of various building systems and their integration. Students who are interested in working as architects who design buildings and advise in their construction should enroll in the Bachelor of Architecture program

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, graduates will be able to:

An ability to recognize and explain architectural design and history concepts
An ability to recognize mechanical and electrical systems and their applications in architectural engineering solutions.
An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
An ability to select, analyse and integrate building structural systems with their basic elements in architectural engineering solutions.
An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering and computing tools necessary for architectural engineering practice.
An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

Academic Requirements

A minimum High School Average of 75% for Elite Track, 90% General Track or 80% for Advanced Track or equivalent in Standardized International Systems is required.

Program Requirements

Successful completion of all courses in the curriculum.
Successful completion of the equivalent of 16 weeks of full time engineering training (internship).
Cumulative Grade Point Average CGPA of at least 2.

Required Documents

Official Bachelor's / Master's university transcripts and graduation certificates certified by the appropriate authorities, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, or its equivalent.

An Equivalency Certificate obtained from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE for Bachelor’s/Master's degrees from universities outside the UAE.

A valid certificate of proficiency in English: - For all Master’s /Doctoral programs taught in English: 6.0 IELTS Academic or TOEFL (ITP) score of 550, or its equivalent. - For Doctor of Philosophy in Law: 5.0 IELTS Academic or TOEFL (ITP) score of 500, or its equivalent. - For the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching program and all Master’s programs taught in Arabic: 4.5 IELTS Academic or TOEFL (ITP) score of 450, or its equivalent.

An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.

An ability to create architectural engineering solutions with synthesis level in construction/ Construction Management incorporating appropriate engineering standards and multiple constraints.

An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration to public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.

An ability to apply the knowledge of architectural Engineering practice, ethics, and management in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.

An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.

An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

A valid colored passport copy with a valid residence visa.

A valid colored UAE national ID copy.

A valid certificate of good conduct issued by the official authorities.

A recent colored photograph (size 3×4).

Status of UAE National Service or exemption of the Military National Service (for UAE male applicants).

CV and experience certificate (if available).

Two recommendation letters.

Kuwaiti national applicants must attach a copy of the Kuwaiti Embassy Approval

Equivalency Certificate from the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in the UAE for foreign high school certificates and high school certificates issued by schools outside the UAE.

For Kuwaiti Students: A no-objection (NOC) letter from the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait - Cultural Office in the UAE, specifying the program the student is permitted to enroll in at Ajman University.

For International Students: Official secondary school certificate/transcripts certified by the authorized educational authority in the country of origin, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the UAE Embassy.

English Proficiency Requirements: - For all programs taught in English: A minimum score of 80% in Grade 12 English subject, or its equivalent (5.0 IELTS Academic, or a TOEFL (ITP) score of 500, IBT 61) - For Doctor of Medicine: A score of 6.0 IELTS Academic, a TOEFL (ITP) score of 550, IBT 79, or its equivalent. - For Bachelor of Dental Surgery: A score of 5.0 IELTS Academic, or a TOEFL (ITP) score of 500, IBT 61, or its equivalent.

College of Medicine, and College of Dentistry: A minimum score of 90% in Math and two Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).

Bachelor of Pharmacy: A minimum score of 80% in Math and two Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).

College of Engineering, and Bachelor of Architectural Engineering: A minimum score of 80% in Math and Physics, and a minimum score of 80% in Biology or Chemistry.

Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics programs: A minimum score of 75% in Math.

Information Systems programs: A minimum score of 70% in Math.

Bachelor of Law: A minimum score of 70% in Math.
