The Program is designed to ensure excellence in multiple technical areas within the broad field of civil engineering, while emphasizing the role of general education, ethical and social responsibility, and life-long learning in the personal and professional growth of future civil engineers. Throughout our programs, emphasis is placed on the application of fundamental principles of civil engineering and the utilization of the latest software and tools within a robust curriculum. The 137 credit-hour program will include 15 hours of civil engineering electives where students will learn how to design and develop structural, geo-technical, transportation, and hydraulic infrastructure, and manage environmental, water resources, and construction projects. The program culminates into a mandatory field experience and an interdisciplinary capstone design project. Since the introduction of a third year industry placement, our students have had a unique opportunity to work in some landmark projects in Dubai, the UAE, and worldwide. The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.) degree is a four-year program consisting of 137 hours of required credit. Core subjects are split into Mathematics/Natural Sciences, Arts and Sciences, and Civil Engineering. There are also 15 credit hours of civil engineering electives, where students can choose courses that range from structural analysis and design, geotechnical engineering, water resources, environmental engineering, and transportation engineering.
